We all know how a smell can induce a memory or a feeling. It is a great way to remind us of our childhood. Smells also trigger a particular experience or time of year. The smell of freshly cut grass evoking that spring is on its way. Or the smell when an orange has just been peeled, it gives you a refreshed feeling. Or a certain flower leaving us feeling at peace. There are many examples of these kinds of smells. But it is clear that scents trigger a reaction in our bodies and minds.
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of plant materials and aromatic plant oils. Including essential oils, and other aromatic compounds. Used for the purpose of altering one’s mood, cognitive, psychological or physical well-being.
Aromatherapy is the treatment or prevention of disease by use of essential oils. It can be useful to treat pain and reduce anxiety, along with enhancement of energy and short-term memory. Also useful for relaxation, hair loss prevention, and reduction of eczema-induced itching.
Individual blends will treat a specific purpose for each client. This is done by utilising the oils healing, antiseptic, decongestive and anti-inflammatory qualities to achieve this.
